About Subly
Subly is a subscription tracker for iOS. It helps you see every recurring charge you have, how much they total per month, and when each one renews — so nothing surprises you.
What makes Subly different
Every other subscription tracker we tested asks for your bank credentials through Plaid. That's the first scary step that stops most people from finishing setup. Subly's wedge is the opposite:
No Plaid
We don't connect to your bank. Ever. There is no "Link account" button anywhere in the app.
No bank password
We don't ask for your online-banking credentials. Not encrypted. Not via OAuth. Not at all.
No account on our side
Subly has no sign-up. There is nothing to forget the password to. Your data lives on your iPhone and (optionally) in your private iCloud container — we don't have a copy.
How we still find your subscriptions
Three input rails, none of which require bank linking:
- Apple subscriptions auto-detect. StoreKit reads anything you subscribed to through the App Store and pre-fills it for you on first launch.
- Bank-statement scan. You take one screenshot or upload one PDF of your statement. Our backend reads it once via an LLM and returns the recurring charges. The image is not stored.
- Manual or voice entry. Type a service name and we look up the brand artwork from the App Store. Or just say "Spotify family for nine ninety-nine a month, renews next Tuesday" and we'll fill the fields.
What Pro unlocks
- Unlimited subscriptions on the home list (free is capped at 5).
- Bank-statement OCR (otherwise read-only).
- Voice add (otherwise read-only).
- Per-subscription reminder offsets, multiple currencies, and the live FX-converted home total.
Apple processes the upgrade. You can cancel anytime in iOS Settings → your name → Subscriptions.
Honest things we don't do
- We don't cancel subscriptions for you. The competitor that markets "we'll cancel anything for $5/month" is, in our experience, lying about success rates. Subly tells you exactly where to cancel each subscription with a deep link, and it's faster than waiting on a "negotiation" email thread.
- We don't run analytics SDKs. There is no Firebase, no Mixpanel, no Amplitude.
- We don't show ads.
- We don't sell aggregate or anonymised data. Even the anonymised version of your subscription list never leaves your device.
